More online TV for Internet addicts

iPlayerI read today on Gizmodo that the BBC will be streaming live TV via the Internet later this month. Both BBC 1 and BBC 2 will be available to be viewed online from 27th November.

BBC radio stations are already available online, so I suppose it was always going to be a matter of time before TV content would make its way onto the web. Undoubtedly, this will probably leave ISPs scratching their heads a little bit as to how to provide extra bandwidth to support this. BBC's iPlayer is already a pretty big hit with us here, so I'm sure that this will be widely accepted as good news. Those iPhone junkies that we have around us will probably be showing me how they can watch stuff on their way into work and all.

The videos will be in a similar iPlayer format and if you've missed anything, you'll be given a week as usual to download it. Brilliant really, it feels like it's a step closer to seeing PCs and laptops doing the job for TVs as well.
