What is RSS?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) may sound like an abstract piece of programming language but actually it's a neat application that can help you make sense of the increasingly disparate amount of information that's available online. RSS feeds give you the latest news or updates from a website without you having to visit the site itself. Imagine how useful this is when you have an ever growing list of favourite sites you would like to visit more often but don't have the time to, RSS provides you with the ability to see what's new and what's relevant to you in one simple feed.

How do I subscribe to an RSS feed?

First you need to subscribe to a feed on a website that interests you. Typically RSS feeds will cover updates on news, blogs, new products and top deals. Click on the RSS icon and you will be able to sign up to the feed and from then on get fed the latest information

An RSS newsreader is a piece of downloadable software that enables you to sign up to a sites RSS feed.
